Knocking off fear

How does knocking off fear look like?

Scary, Eerie & Disturbing,

Trembling legs, sweaty palms,

Palpitating heart and an over alert mind.

The voice inside screaming,

Don’t do,

Don’t go for it,

Don’t even think it!

And beneath all this,

Lies tucked in safely,

Growing in our reluctance,

Creeping inch by inch,

Taking control because of our lack of control,

Is this feeling called FEAR.

Imagine this,

Like a to be wedded bride, stood I,

Like a strong and powerful groom, stood fear,

Shy was I,

Arrogant was fear,

How is this journey going to  be?

Like the race between the rabbit and tortoise?

Or like the story of the fox and the grapes?

Who is to say?

I know you are inquisitive to know,

What happened to the bride and the groom?

Did they embrace and live fearfully ever after?

Did they fight and separate never to see, ever after?

Or like the yesteryears Hindi movies,

Is there a prince or a hero coming to rescue?

So, how do you think knocking off my fears looked like?

A hero saving the heroine, for a life of happily ever after!

Yeah, I had a hero come to my rescue,

A name that will have you up and moving,

For it’s a word we all learnt growing, ‘Action’.

Action – speaking without holding myself back,

Slowly the groom dwindled in size.

Action – heeding to the inner voice without a thought of worry,

Slowly the groom flickered in light.

Action – ignoring the reluctance and taking control of my life,

Slowly the groom faded away from sight.

In its place stood a picture,

Of a joyful, soulful, dancing bride,

Transformed, whole and complete,

Ready to embrace all the tunes of life!
