A letter to my little one
My dear little one,
I saw a movie that was a beautiful revelation. It is called “The shift”, which shifted something deep in me. It answered so many questions I had in my mind. One of the most potent things I realized at the end was that we all change. You, me, our relationship, the world around, everything changes. In this changing life, I want to capture these realizations that I had, for someday, it may be your solace when you look at the afternoons from the mornings of your life.
Purpose: There will come the point in your life. As early as you are fourteen-fifteen, the world around you will ask you to define your life's purpose. To choose the subjects you have to study, the profession you wish to pursue, the life you need to live, you need to have a purpose. Don’t ever make the mistake of etching this in stone. At forty, many of us are still searching for our purpose. Understand this, my little one; the purpose is not a thing to achieve or become. At this age, and always the purpose of your life is to feel happiness. To do things that make you happy. To function from a place of unhurried, peaceful and blissful happiness is the essential purpose of your life.
Pursuit: The world is never satisfied with your best self. No matter how much you are, it is never enough in this pursuit of becoming what the world wants. Do not ignore the silent pull, the whisper of your heart that keeps nudging you from within. Allow it to express and manifest, as it will become the guiding force directing your efforts and actions. Your pursuit should be in the direction of the silent pull from within, not from the noise around.
Things you seek: At different points in your life, the world will keep telling you that you cannot have it, or you cannot do it. Understand this universal truth, my love. A piece of gold jewellery comes from gold, a rose from a rose plant, and everything comes from a source. The entire existence came from a source. You, the human spirit and the things around you come from the same source. A part of you is also in them; we are all connected. To attract anything into your life, you must realize this connection and align yourself to it. The easiest way ahead is to do your part and let go. Do not interfere and allow the energy to manifest when right.
Self-doubt: From time to time, you will feel incompleteness and self-doubt. There will be this feeling of worthlessness, emptiness and resentment toward life. Remember this word, my little one, ‘belief’ during all such times. The energy that created and nurtured you in the womb for nine months gave you everything you needed to survive. It gave you everything you need to live a life with hands, legs, eyes, nose, brain, heart, and reflexes. Believe that everything you will ever need is already in you; you don’t need to add anything more or take away anything from you to become you. Believe that you are a creature of perfection.
Ego: As you grow older, there is a word that you will hear very often, ‘ego’. Many of your intense expressions will be associated with this word. Introspect my little one. Pause and look at your life. Are you operating from love and compassion, or are you operating from what you have, what you have become and what other people think of you to be? If you look at people from the spectacles of wealth, success, beauty, reputation, and higher spiritual evolution, that’s when you have allowed ego. Just become more aware; in awareness, ego goes.
Change: Let change not confuse you, dear one. Just like every morning gives way to an afternoon, evening and night. Every life goes through its morning, afternoon and night. Accept change. Dare to make mistakes and dare to change. Go as far as you can see, and once there, become open and flexible to change. Let your goals, ambitions, purpose and meaning of life change; let it evolve. Allow your heart to be the guiding force in your life. When you operate from your higher self, happiness is a constant state of mind. Let this become the metric to adopt change into your life.
Energy: The secret to life is to accept this wisdom that there is a force, an energy that runs the universe. There is a divine intelligence that is working behind screens. Everything around happens in a divine precision. Accept, believe, unlock and learn to attract this into your life. Life is not to be a struggle. Life is one beautiful play of exploration, adventures, realization, evolution and happiness.
Virtues: The easiest way to attract energy into your life is to live your life anchored to these virtues.
Reverence – Respect for life
Sincerity – Honesty to ones feeling and emotion
Gentleness – Kindness to oneself and others
Supportiveness – being of service to others
Living life by these virtues automatically attracts divine energy into your life; with it comes abundance and peace.
Giver: This quote from the movie touched me deeply. “Even after all this time, the sun never says to the earth, ‘You owe me’. Look what happens with a love like that. It lights the whole sky”.
That is the power of giving. Become a giver. Always look at ways to serve your loved ones and the world around them. Giving is so powerful it unlocks the energy like no other. The universe gives to a giving heart.
Fulfilment: During the twilight years of our life, there is but one dominant feeling that the heart craves. There is a place deep within us that needs to feel fulfilled. Fulfilment comes with this realization that we have touched a human life, made a difference and played our part in making the world a better place to live. Realize that there is no greater joy than touching a human life.
Shift: Just like the river that bends and flows along its laid path. Flow, my little one, carrying your goals, ambitions, and dreams, put your heart into everything you do, and flow in the path laid for you. Flow playing the music of your heart. Flow living the meaning of your soul. Flow making those tiny little shifts, one at a time. Flow despite everything, for what you attract is not what you want, but what you are in life. Flow to become what you are meant to be.
Super di! Sooo true!!!! And such an awesome note to your little ones :)
